The Social Butterfly

You’re a real people person! Half the reason you travel is to make connections with new people. You love learning about new cultures and will try almost anything. Whilst you’re confident to chat to almost anyone anywhere, you worry if you’ll find it lonely if you go it alone.

Being with others fuels your fire! You love feeling like you’re part of a crew. You like having like-minded people to explore with. To come together at the end of the day to share a meal and re-live the tales of the day. Perhaps even a few cheeky drinks or a night out too?

You probably lean towards high-energy travel experiences. Why? Because they’re fun to do with friends!

And there’s nothing wrong with that… But you’re also drawn to the flexibility offered by solo travel and not being too locked down.

so…

Which type of travel would suit you best?

Read on, friend…

1. Small group travel

Although you’re a people person, quality is better than quantity. You prefer to make a few really good connections that can potentially grow into really cool friendships.

For that reason, a small group tour may be just the right fit. It’s a more intimate style of travel where connections are made faster. Where you’ll soon feel like you’re travelling with a group of friends rather than on a “tour”.

2. A customised itinerary plan

So you love the idea of going solo? And you want the flexibility to make decisions and change your plans on the fly? That’s great! But to counteract your desire to be around people (and to keep you safe as a solo traveller) you could benefit from a curated itinerary plan before setting off.

Why? There are a few reasons. First, you will be able to hit the ground running on day one instead of wasting time working out what there is to do and see. Plus, with some careful planning and pre-booking day trips, experiences and evening events you’ll be able to meet new people easily, in a safe way. You can choose between the level of inclusions and free time so you have the perfect balance between having company and going it alone.

3. Hop-on Hop-off

So you know where you want to go but the thought of managing the logistics of getting around on your own is overwhelming…

Then a hop-on hop-off style itinerary may be perfect for you… giving you security and flexibility at the same time! But forget those double-decker buses that come to mind. This style of travel comes in many shapes and forms.

Think of something like a European river cruise where your transport and accommodation is all catered for. Where you can come solo but have company onboard to mingle and dine with. You’ll have the freedom to explore new places each day (solo or in the company of newfound friends). Cruising not your thing? There are also rail passes, coach options, or even a mixed-mode. There are so many possibilities.

About me

Hey, there 👋 I’m Alyssa

I’m the founder of SoloMade. I love solo travelling. It offers you the freedom to explore the world your way. As a lifelong traveller myself, I’ve covered many corners of the globe.

I began solo travelling early in my 20s. Solo travel back then meant jumping on a tour or staying in hostels as a way to meet new people. But as we hit our 40s (and beyond!), our travel style evolves. As life and work get busy, our holidays become even more important. We no longer want to stay in hostels to meet people, but staying in a hotel alone can feel isolating. It’s nice to have people to dine with or explore those off-the-beaten-track places.

And so… SoloMade was born. With 23 years of travel industry experience, I help solo travellers (just like you) explore the world. Whether that be heading off independently or joining one of our small group hosted journeys.

There’s no need to wait for your friends and family to explore the world.

Together we’ll develop a travel plan that aligns with your unique needs! I’ll be there for you every step of the way. And you can feel secure knowing that I’ll be available 24/7 for emergency assistance when you’re away.
