Day 1 – Welcome to Nairobi

Karibu Kenya! Upon arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you’ll be met by our local team and transferred to your hotel in the leafy suburb of Karen. Settle in, relax after your journey and prepare for the incredible safari adventure that awaits.

Day 2 – Wildlife & Conservation in Nairobi

Start your safari adventure with a morning game drive in Nairobi National Park, where wildlife roams against the backdrop of Kenya’s capital city. Enjoy a picnic breakfast in the park as you search for giraffe, zebra, buffalo and, if you’re lucky, rhino and lion.

Later, visit the renowned Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, home to orphaned baby elephants rescued from across Kenya, and learn about the incredible conservation work being undertaken to protect these gentle giants. Continue to the historic Karen Blixen Museum, made famous by Out of Africa, before enjoying lunch and travelling through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru, your base for the evening.

Day 3 – Discover Lake Nakuru National Park

Today is dedicated to exploring Lake Nakuru National Park, one of Kenya’s most rewarding wildlife destinations. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Great Rift Valley, the park is renowned for its thriving rhino population, abundant birdlife and diverse landscapes.

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives as you search for lions, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and, with a little luck, elusive leopards resting among the acacia trees. Depending on seasonal water levels, the lake may also attract spectacular flocks of flamingos that transform the shoreline into a sea of pink.

Day 4 – Into the Masai Mara

Today, travel to the legendary Masai Mara, one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife reserves. Arriving in time for lunch, you’ll have the opportunity to relax before heading out on your first game drive across the reserve’s vast savannahs.

Home to an incredible diversity of wildlife, the Mara offers exceptional year-round game viewing, with opportunities to spot lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo and countless other species. As the sun begins to set over the plains, enjoy your first taste of this remarkable ecosystem and the unforgettable safari experiences that lie ahead.

Days 5–6 – Safari Adventures in the Masai Mara

Spend the next two days exploring the extraordinary landscapes of the Masai Mara on morning and afternoon game drives. With each outing offering something different, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to search for the Big Five and observe the fascinating behaviours of Africa’s wildlife in their natural habitat. Between game drives, relax at camp and soak up the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.

For a truly unforgettable experience, you may choose to take an optional hot air balloon safari at sunrise, floating silently above the Mara’s vast plains as wildlife stirs below.

Day 7 – From Kenya to Tanzania

Enjoy one final morning in the Masai Mara before returning to Nairobi, with a stop at the spectacular Great Rift Valley for a last look across this iconic landscape.

This afternoon, fly to Tanzania and continue to Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania’s renowned Northern Safari Circuit. Settle into your lodge and prepare for the next chapter of your East African adventure.

Day 8 – Tarangire National Park

This morning, journey into Tarangire National Park, a landscape of rolling grasslands, ancient baobab trees and abundant wildlife. Named after the Tarangire River that sustains the park throughout the year, this region is renowned for its large elephant herds and diverse birdlife.

Enjoy a full day game drive as you explore one of Tanzania’s most scenic national parks before arriving at your intimate camp, where you can relax and take in the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 9 – Into the Serengeti

Today, travel through some of Tanzania’s most spectacular landscapes as you make your way towards the iconic Serengeti. Keep your camera close as you journey through this remarkable ecosystem, where lions, elephants, giraffes and countless other species roam freely.

Day 10 – Full Day Serengeti Safari

Day 11 – Olduvai Gorge & Ngorongoro Highlands

Farewell the Serengeti and journey towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping at the famous Olduvai Gorge, one of the world’s most significant archaeological sites. Often referred to as the “Cradle of Mankind”, this remarkable location has provided important insights into human evolution.

Continue through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands, with opportunities to admire views of the spectacular crater, before arriving in Karatu for a relaxing evening.

Day 12 – Ngorongoro Crater Safari

Today, experience one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife destinations as you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater. After an unforgettable game drive on the crater floor, return to Karatu and enjoy your final evening in Tanzania, reflecting on the incredible wildlife encounters and memories made throughout your safari adventure.

Day 13 – Lake Manyara & Departure

Enjoy a final safari experience this morning in Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic reserve renowned for its diverse birdlife, groundwater forests and shimmering lake fringed by flamingos. After lunch, continue to Arusha where your East African adventure comes to an end, taking with you unforgettable memories of Kenya and Tanzania’s extraordinary wildlife and landscapes.

A moderate level of fitness is recommended. Most activities involve vehicle-based game viewing, with some walking around lodges and accommodation properties.

Passport & Visa Requirements

Visa and entry requirements for Kenya and Tanzania are subject to change. Guests are responsible for ensuring they meet all entry requirements before departure.

Luggage

The luggage allowance on the flight from Nairobi to Kilimanjaro is 15kgs in a soft bag. Any excess luggage will be charged at approx USD$3 per kilo.
