On this short adventure, we’ll spend two epic days on Kangaroo Island before exploring the wonderful city of Adelaide. Kangaroo Island is one of Australia’s premier nature reserves. It’s home to a huge variety of native wildlife, spectacular scenery and tasty food and wine options. In Adelaide, you’re in for a treat. We’ll stay at the brand new French-inspired 5 star Sofitel and explore the gorgeous German town of Hahndorf plus wine tasting in the McLaren Vale wine region.

YOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Welcome to kangaroo island

Meet your host at Adelaide airport for a 3pm transfer to Cape Jervis. You’ll board the Sealink ferry across to Kangaroo Island. After checking into your hotel, you’ll enjoy a welcome dinner to get to know your fellow travel companions.

Day 2: A taste of the island

Today you’ll enjoy a full-day private tour of the island with a local guide. A stop at Cliffords Honey Farm to sample some delightful local produce and then on to the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park, home to over 800 animals. During your visit, you’ll have the opportunity to spend time with some of Australia’s most famous animals including koalas, wombats, penguins, echidnas and much more.

Lunch is included at a local restaurant before the day is topped off with a visit to Bay of Shoals Wines for a premium wine tasting. The Bay of Shoals winery offers spectacular views overlooking the Bay of Shoals and all grapes are grown, harvested and made into wine on-site.

Day 3: Into the Wild

Today you’ll visit the Seal Bay Conservation Park on the south-west of the island. Here you’ll see the Australian Sea Lions up close and enjoy guided beach walks where you may see pups at play. Continuing on to the Birds of Prey free-flight interactive demonstration. Where you’ll learn about native Australian birds, including the captivating wedge-tail Eagles, Kookaburras, and owls.

Lunch is included at Vivonne Bay. Located to the south, this quaint town overlooks the Southern Ocean with some of the most photographed beaches on the island.

In the afternoon you’ll explore the Flinders Chase National Park. It’s home to the iconic rock formations known as Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch, as well as a colony of long-nosed fur seals.

This evening you’ll return to Adelaide and check in to the newly opened, French-inspired 5-star Sofitel Adelaide.

VIVONNE BAY
Hahndorf. Australia’s oldest remaining German settlement

Day 4: The best of Adelaide

Today you’ll venture out of Adelaide to visit Hahndorf. Australia’s oldest remaining German settlement. Wander its gorgeous tree-lined streets and discover traditional German-style stores, cuckoo clocks and pubs.

As you continue on through the Adelaide Hills you’ll enjoy the stunning vistas of the McLaren Vale wine region. Stopping at Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards for wine tasting and a light lunch. It’s an impressive vineyard sprawled on over 1000 hectares producing small-batch, handcrafted wines.

This evening, reflect on a wonderful trip with a farewell dinner included at the Sofitel. After dinner, you may want to join your fellow guests at the hotel’s Garcon Bleu bar. Boasting a spectacular selection of French champagnes.

Day 5: Farewell

After breakfast, bid farewell to new friends as you return to Adelaide airport. Flights should be booked after 12:30 pm.
