Your Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Uluru

On arrival you’ll transfer to the Sails in the Desert Hotel. There is a chance to unwind and enjoy the resort facilities. A dip in the pool or a chance to explore the Indigenous art featured throughout the hotel.

This evening you’ll experience the magic of the Field of Lights dinner. As the sun sets over Uluru the Field of Light art installation comes alive to the sound of the didgeridoo. You’ll enjoy gourmet canapes and sparkling wine before a three-course bushtucker inspired menu. Complemented by Australian wines and beers, this is an evening you will not forget.

Day 2: Uluru touring

This morning is an early start as you make your way to the dune tops to watch the sunrise over Uluru. Watch in awe as the sky changes colour over this sacred Australian icon. You’ll continue the morning touring the sites around Uluru. You’ll visit the Mutijulu Waterhole, one of the few water sources in the area (you may even be able to see Wallabies here). Afterwards, a visit to the Uluru Cultural centre. Here you will learn about the Anangu culture and the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.

Returning to the resort where you can rest and have lunch at your leisure. Later this afternoon you’ll visit the Kata Tjutu National Park and the Walpa Gorge walk. A sacred site for the Anangu men. The rocky track inside the gorge presents an amazing landscape and is home to rare plants. On the return you’ll stop for sparkling wine and canapes as you watch the sunset over Uluru.

Day 3: Uluru to Kings Canyon

Leaving Uluru behind to travel across desert landscapes. With a 2-hour Canyon Creek walk and lunch at Kings Creek Station, a vast farming property. Immerse yourself in Indigenous culture on a visit to the Wanmarra Aboriginal Community. Here you’ll learn about the Luritja and Pertame people’s spiritual connection to the land. Discover bush food and medicine used for spirituality and healing.

This evening you’ll dine under the starry southern hemisphere sky. Indulge yourselves at the Under a Desert Moon degustation dinner with matching wines. The perfect way to finish the day.

Day 4: Kings Canyon to Alice Springs

This morning you’ll embark on a 6km sunrise rim walk. The landscape is incredible as you walk past the domed ‘Lost City’ and down into the luscious ‘Garden of Eden’. Today will be a Kings Canyon picnic lunch. Then sit back and enjoy the scenery as you head west through the MacDonnell Ranges and onward to Alice Springs.

Day 5: West MacDonnell Ranges

This morning you’ll visit the historic Overland Telegraph Station. Established in 1871 to connect Australia’s north and south. Then it’s on to unlock the secrets of the West MacDonnell ranges. A magnificent landscape of gorges, chasms and water holes. It is everything you imagine the Australian Outback to be. You’ll have lunch at Standley Chasm, a privately-owned gorge. It is a peaceful place filled with old red river gums. Then continue on to Simpsons Gap where there are plenty of walking tracks to explore. Keep your eyes open for Black-footed Rock Wallabies that inhabit the area. Returning to Alice Springs for a farewell dinner.

Day 6: Alice Springs

This morning you’ll enjoy the outback centre of Alice Springs. Discover the amazing history as you hear the challenges of remote living in the outback. You’ll visit the Australian Royal Flying Doctor Service and the School of the Air. Two amazing organisations keeping remote communities safe and connected.

After an epic 6 days it’s time to say goodbye to your fellow travellers and new friends. Your driver will escort you back to Alice Springs Airport for your onward flight.
